YUEN Siu Fai 阮兆輝

生於廣東佛山,七歲開始演藝工作,在粵劇界享有「神童輝」之美譽。啟蒙老師為粵劇名宿新丁香耀,後拜名伶麥炳榮門下,又隨袁小田學習北派,從劉兆榮、黃滔、林兆鎏學唱,更精研廣東說唱之南音。

現於香港教育學院、香港演藝學院戲劇學院、職業訓練局、教育署音樂科粵劇委員會委員擔任導師,而阮先生近年亦積極參與各大學的推廣活動,分別被邀請到香港各大學、教育學院等舉行講座及研討會,推廣戲曲知識。

阮先生是香港藝術發展局委員(戲曲)、香港八和會館副主席、各大粵劇團主要文武生、小生、丑生、鬚生演員。他亦編撰了多部重要劇目,如《煉印》、《貍貓換太子(下卷)》、《呆佬拜壽》等。

Yuen Siu-fai began his performing career in films as a child-actor at the age of seven before he turned to the stage. In the past years, he established as one of the most recognized first grade Cantonese Opera artists, and received many honors. In 1991, he was awarded the “Annual Hong Kong Artist Award”. In 1992, he gave a Royal Command performance for Queen Elizabeth II at the palace in London. In 2003, he received the “Award for Arts Achievement” from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.

In addition to his success and fame as an all-rounded Cantonese Opera artist, Mr Yuen is also a brilliant opera-script-writer. His well-known works include “The Orphan of the Chiu Family”, “Lu Meng-zheng – A Poor Scholar”, “The Repatriation of Cai Wenji”, etc.

In recent years, Mr Yuen devotes educational work. He often visits universities and secondary schools to offer seminars and conduct demonstrations. Mr Yuen is now the Vice-chairman of the Chinese Artists’ Association of Hong Kong and a committee member of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.
