Course Description
This introductory course aims at helping students to appreciate the creative potential of video art. Students will learn the theories and practical skills of single video production, with an emphasis on using video as a creative tool for artistic expression and communication. Students will acquaint themselves with the history and development of video art, and its creative concepts.
- Describe and appreciate the history and development of single-channel video art
- Identify and explain the stylistic and narrative elements of single-channel video artwork
- Develop abstract ideas and apply artistic concepts to the process of single-channel video making
Part 1: From Observation to Organization of elements in Video Art making

Week 5-6: Devices and styles of editing
Part 2: Video Narrative – Constructing an audio/video narrative
