Cornelia ERDMANN

Cornelia Erdmann is an artist with an MA in Architecture as well an MFA in Public Art both from Bauhaus-University Weimar, Germany. She specialises in large-scale installations for public space and private commissions. Her main medium is light, which she likes to combine with other materials and technologies to create playful site-specific installations that interact and surprise the audience on various levels.

Originally from Germany, Cornelia now lives and works in Hong Kong since 2006. In recent years she had works commissioned – mostly for hospitality, commercial spaces and offices, but as well as private homes – in Hong Kong, China, Singapore, and the UK. Her largest winning commission is the light sculpture "The People" for the main lobby in the new Legislative Council Complex in Hong Kong. And recently, she has placed her artworks in all guest rooms at the Peninsula Hotel Hong Kong. She has also exhibited in various museums, galleries and art festivals in Australia, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, and the UK.
