This is an experiential learning course designed to engage students in exploring arts and their own creative abilities through a series of lectures/seminars on arts and creativity, art tutorials and enrichment activities. Students will have the opportunities to create their own artwork and learn through guided reflective activities individually as well as in groups.
- Understand the theory of creativity and the creative process in relation to visual arts
- Demonstrate the competency at fundamental level of a practical creative skill as defined by the instructor of separate art tutorials
- Apply artistic ability to generate original artworks and communicate visually
- Be exposed to different types of artworks, and to the environment in which artworks are produced and marketed
- Demonstrate reflective ability in the understanding and appreciation of artworks
Students are required to attend the lectures and guest lectures on creative and professional practices in the creativity field. They are also required to attend art tutorials to create their own artworks.

Art Tutorial (2): Ceramics
- Demonstrate and practice clay making techniques
- Demonstrate and practice clay decoration techniques
- Design and create a clay work step by step
Art Tutorial (3): Black and White Photography
- Basic understanding of how photography communicates
- A brief history of photography in terms of its theory and practice
- Basic photography technique
- Film development practice
- Samples of works of different artists
- Print making technique
- Field practice (outing)
- Concept development: understanding of SELF
- Darkroom practice and tutorial of personal practice
- Ways of presenting photographic work
- Preview and tutorial
