Alice Lo is a former Associate Professor at School of Design of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University teaching graphic design, advertising and design thinking within the BA (Hons) in Graphic Design and BA (Hons) in Design programmes. Her teaching and research concerned creativity development and the application of design thinking skills to other disciplines such as engineering, marketing, and health and social sciences. She currently practices as a consultant in design and creativity education. She advocates a multidisciplinary approach that stimulates cross-fertilization of ideas.
She has delivered lectures and conducted workshops at international conferences and design institutions to introduce creative tools that can be applied to the arts or sciences, in study, employment or daily problem-solving activities. She was editor and art director of the award-winning book Navigating Design: a voyage of discovery and co-author of Creative Tools that disseminated the creative teaching and learning experiences at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
